    Default All lead emails to clients go to Junk mail

    Good Afternoon!

    SO, we have a big problem we need to figure out what to do with and I am hoping that by posting this online, someone will come up with a possible solution. Especially since this potentially affects all REW website customers.

    We have set up several "tests" to see what the client receives on their end when they sign up to receive listings and/or register on our website. Our tests were run through email addresses hosted through our internal office, gmail, hotmail, yahoo, and rocketmail. They all have virtually the same result.

    Ultimately 99% of all emails coming from the REW IDX are ending up in junk mail. This is a huge detriment to our business. If they go to junk mail then many customers will never see them and then they will just assume we never replied to them.

    It seems that if this is a problem on nearly every web email server, it is a big enough problem that we should try to come up with a solution on "our" end....a way to reconfigure these emails so that they do not end up directly in junk mail. It's not enough to just assume the client will check their junk mail and begin marking our email as "not" junk.

    What can be done from a configuring standpoint to "fix" this...or is there a way to run them through "our" office server first or something that would keep them from ending up in the client's junk folder???

    Hello,

    I ran a test with a Gmail account and the registration email did not end up in my Junk Mail. One issue I notice is that the subject line you have set it "Welcome to my website..." - you might consider changing that to something else. Are there some things that you've tried to resolve the issue? Possibly changing the content of the Auto Reply email?
    We will add an SPF record for the domain that may help with hotmail.

    I will try to mess around with the content of the auto responder. The problem is that the search results all go to junk mail each day as well. And those were set up by REW, not by us - as far as I can tell.

    OK - Sounds good - Let me know if you want to try any changes to the search results emails - One issue is that those listings email updates are ... well...kind of like spam because they are automated emails that are full of links and images. That said - I've never had an issue with them ending up in my junk mail boxes.

    Aaron, this has been an ongoing issue with our Company Site as well!!!! We have had several posts with absolutely no resolve to this matter either. Unfortunately for us it has to do with the leads coming from the site to the agent that end up in the agent's junk mail & then they don't realize they even have a lead or it's too late when they do. Sounds like it is a bigger issue because Keith has a stand alone site away from our company site & is having the same problems. I believe it needs a little more in depth attention and maybe a look-see at previous postings....

    Since signing up for the site in March of this year, I have received exactly three 'private' emails, two of them offering information about work at home schemes through which I can earn $100 a day or $1,000 over a weekend. Lucky me! I did not sign up with you in order to receive the same kind of crap that ends up in my Spam folder. Remove me from your list.

    What exactly are you talking about here? I think you are getting Private Message spam?

    Hi Janice,

    It seems that the issues so far have been confined to yours and Keith's - I'm sure others will notice some of these emails ending up in junk emails - but as I mention above they are auto generated emails which is a flag for spam.
    - Your site is hosted on the same server as Keith's with the same email configuration. ( non-REW hosted email ) - So one of my theories is that since we do not host the email for your domain - by our server is sending emails as your domain - this could also up the spam score.

    The issue you are having - we have attempted to resolve - and even the CEO got involved - but I think you or your IT department needs to be more active in the solution also.     Aaron - thanks for more indepth explanation and I will point this out to Matt... I know this has been an ongoing issue that Brandon (our previous IT Mgr) was working on with someone there - doing a hit & miss type narrowing down of what was triggering all of this. It has obviously dropped through the cracks and needs to be picked up again. Thanks and I hope you will be willing to work with Matt on any ideas he might come up with regarding our spam/junk mail triggers.

    On a side note - who is the previous post related to because it's not us.
