    Default Subdivision/Complex

This may be a future work order as I will assume this may be a massive quote (if it is even possible)

I see Cal has these 2 pages:

    http://www.gulfshoreslife.com/search-by-condominium.php

    http://www.gulfshoreslife.com/search-by-subdivision.php

If I am correct when one clicks one of the complexes a sear results page comes up, this page does not get indexed? as opposed to if he was to manually create a page for each complex, create a snippet that shows any listings for sale in that complex, creates title, keywords, description etc. If I am correct then here is the question.. can this be done where now only can I get the above 2 pages for my site but when you click a complex name the a page created (by the system so to say) comes up for each complex with a snippet that shows any listings for sale in that complex, creates title, keywords, description etc

Either that or I have to manually do each one but it is not super important for me to have 99% of them but if they can be auto generated then I may be interested, depends on the quote of course because it is not a must have.

So I would like to get 2 quotes, quotes for having 2 pages like the 2 links above then the auto generated pages for each complex, not a search results page for each complex. Hope that makes sense. I already have a drop down search in my IDX but not ones like above with nice anchor text (that is spiderable) to each complex that has potential to result in an indexed paged with a snippet.

    Thanks.

    Michael,
The complex and subdivision links are all no follow links. There was concern that there would be a lot of duplicate content with those. I still wanted them as an easy reference for someone that was looking for a specific complex. It is a good index of sorts for humans, but the pages as constructed have no seo value.

Have your REW rep check with Morgan before deploying, he freaked from an SEO standpoint when he saw them and I asked if I could keep if they were no folllow. If you find that there is a way to auto generate the pages and make them unique with a script and thus don't have to have them as no follow, please let me know as I would be interested in doing the same.

Hi Cal thanks for the input. Why would there be duplicate content when each link just brings you to a search results page?

I don't know if I "freaked" but I certainly don't want to have customers flooding Google with every possible search query spidered the way this would do it. They aren't mod_rewritten, they aren't formatted from an SEO perspective etc - I really am just not a fan of "auto generating" pages (fake pages) - I don't think it's a good thing to do - this is different from spidering a "details" page, as this is a legit page with content unto itself.

I guess what I was trying to say was - I already have a bunch of complexes that I created pages for as well as the (Title, Keywords and Description particular to that complex name). If there was some way to have the same format done on all the various complexes/subdivisions, or someway a program written that would fill in all the important fields, Title, Keywords, Description, page url name ir /complex-name.php, active listings snippet, etc

Basically everything I do manually to create a page for a complex, could that be automated? I would guess no or if yes it is a super long project. I am not trying to do any sort of gray area seo but if something could be automated which normally would take me weeks to do it may be interesting but curious if it is a bad thing in anyway in the eyes of the search engines.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mike,

We can certainly automate the process of creating CMS pages. I cannot comment on the SEO items - but I can tell you that we can set up a script that would create a page for every subdivision and Condo with a snippet on it. What we would likely do is make one main page called "All Subdivisions" and one called "All Condos" ... then make all these new pages sub pages of that page. You'd end up with a lot of snippets - we could likely work something out for you in a 5-6hr programming project.

    Thank you,

Hmm interesting I may be interested lets just make sure we are all on the same page in terms of what I want for instance here is a page I made for a condo site:

    mysitename /white-sail-condos-mahopac.php

title - White Sail Condominiums in Mahopac NY

description - White Sail Condos for sale in Mahopac NY, search current active listings and recent sold condos in White Sail in Mahopac"

keywords - White Sail Condos Townhouses in Mahopac NY, Townhouses in Mahopac NY, Condominiums in Mahopac NY, Mahopac NY Real Estate, Homes for sale in Mahopac NY, White Sail in Mahopac NY

I then write a few sentences about the complex or subdivision but to make things easier I could just have a sentence that says "Below you will find all listings currently on the market in complex-name" now if the body of the page can't be automated for each complex/page then I understand so just the snippet on each page is fine.

So the automated project would name the page, do the title, descriptions and keywords and insert the snippet in the body?

I would of course probably make the page name easier for the automate something like /complex-name.php

I would also provide a simple and basic few keywords but an issue I think that arises is the full keywords, meaning I am sure it is easy to tell the CMS to insert "complex-name" in the keyword field but insert "complex-name in city-name NY" I would assume is not possible.

I think we could also make the generic description something like: Search all available listings for sale in complex-name and the Westchester/Putnam MLS (or something to that effect) but again I doubt the computer would be able to insert the city name being that the computer only knows the list of complexes and not what city those complexes are in.

Sorry if I am rambling but I am becoming very interested in this if I could see how it would work and what content/fields would be automated and how much instruction can be given to the CMS that it can handle.

I would also ask if there is a way to say create a new folder inside the snippet menu to keep these massive amount of new snippets so that the ones I created manually thus far do not get lost in the mix.

    Thanks again.
