Hi Mike,
I'll leave the big decisions to Aaron and Morgan, but let me comment that if you do this, I highly recommend setting up a program for getting real copy onto those pages. You could allow the script to create the stock copy on each page (with the complex-name variable) but then you would want to have a human assigned to going into those pages one at a time, and making the text more useful and informational. A local could do this really quickly - like, maybe 3 minutes per page, including the time for navigating the CMS, if they know the area and the CMS decently well.

This would pay off extremely well in terms of SEO and useability.

Well I am interested for sure I just want to get more details on how specific the program can be to fill in all the various keywords, description, title as well as the city name for each complex. I also had plans to go in and start adding content once the pages are done.

Hmm interesting I may be interested lets just make sure we are all on the same page in terms of what I want for instance here is a page I made for a condo site:

mysitename /white-sail-condos-mahopac.php

title - White Sail Condominiums in Mahopac NY

description - White Sail Condos for sale in Mahopac NY, search current active listings and recent sold condos in White Sail in Mahopac"

keywords - White Sail Condos Townhouses in Mahopac NY, Townhouses in Mahopac NY, Condominiums in Mahopac NY, Mahopac NY Real Estate, Homes for sale in Mahopac NY, White Sail in Mahopac NY


I then write a few sentences about the complex or subdivision but to make things easier I could just have a sentence that says "Below you will find all listings currently on the market in complex-name" now if the body of the page can't be automated for each complex/page then I understand so just the snippet on each page is fine.

So the automated project would name the page, do the title, descriptions and keywords and insert the snippet in the body?

I would of course probably make the page name easier for the automate something like /complex-name.php

I would also provide a simple and basic few keywords but an issue I think that arises is the full keywords, meaning I am sure it is easy to tell the CMS to insert "complex-name" in the keyword field but insert "complex-name in city-name NY" I would assume is not possible.

I think we could also make the generic description something like: Search all available listings for sale in complex-name and the Westchester/Putnam MLS (or something to that effect) but again I doubt the computer would be able to insert the city name being that the computer only knows the list of complexes and not what city those complexes are in.

Sorry if I am rambling but I am becoming very interested in this if I could see how it would work and what content/fields would be automated and how much instruction can be given to the CMS that it can handle.

You seem to have a pretty good understanding of what we are suggesting. That's basically exactly what we would do - There is not an issue placing the content onto the page as well as the snippet. Taking the keywords as an example:

keywords - {condoname} Condos Townhouses in {city} NY, Townhouses in {city} NY, Condominiums in {city} NY, {city}NY Real Estate, Homes for sale in {city} NY, {condoname} in {city} NY

Where {city} is the name of the city and {condoname} is the condo name.

I would also ask if there is a way to say create a new folder inside the snippet menu to keep these massive amount of new snippets so that the ones I created manually thus far do not get lost in the mix.

I'd like to allow for 1hr programming to make a secondary folder for the newly created snippets.

So we can go ahead with this - should be around a 6-7hr programming project. Just finalize your desired keywords, description , title, and page content that you would like to use for these new pages.

This was one of the most exciting threads I have came across! To think REW could create every subdivision and condo complex page in a 6-7 hour project is priceless if you ask me. For me, that could be like 1,000 specific pages and as long as the core info is there, Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, listings if there are any, etc I can always come back later and get more detailed but for starters all of those pages would get picked up in the SE's in no time. This might be "Project of the year" for me lol

Yeah, I like it. I would go for it. I have intended to do as much manually, but always get side tracked and never get it accomplished. It would be pretty easy to go onto the pages created by the project and add a few sentences after the fact without having to create a new snippet, work on the metas, and so on. By the time I get my mind in the right mode and everything layed out to get cranked up on it, I get distracted and only get a couple done. With this I could breeze through many pages adding additional text without getting mentally fatigued or irritated by being disturbed by having to concentrate on so many different components at the same time.

I decided not too do it, I have seen it done elsewhere and most if not all of the pages just go into supplemental results and I am also concerned about duplicate content. Which even though the meta data is slightly changed, I think it is too darn similar so for now I am not doing it. No reason to spend that money just to have the pages die in the supplement results.

Also here is the big problem, have you ever noticed how many agents get the name of the complex wrong? or spell it the wrong way? You can have 4-5 different pages that the CMS will automatically create that are dedicated to the same development, to me that is just not professional enough to be included in my site.... such sloppiness, then what am I going to do, create content for all 4-5 versions/spellings of the complex then for sure have duplicate content? I think it is too risky and not really going to do the right thing for me and my site.
