Default MLS/IDX for Las Vegas Web Site

I have been searching everywhere to find a good MLS/IDX solution for my new web site (Las Vegas Condos and Homes Web Site) .

I am in the Las Vegas, NV market and all of the solutions I have found so far are all virtual offices, in which I would have to set up a Iframe or something of the sort.

All of my web sites are on web standards and Iframes are just horrible for accessibility and other issues. So if anyone knows of where to do, or how much it will cost for having a set up on the web site, I would appreciate it.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    Chris,
there are manyoptions. First of all, you will have to talk to your broker (unless you are one) to see if he/she will allow you to offer MLS/IDX on your site. Your broker owns the rights. Step two, if your broker allows this, have your broker contact your local board of Realtors or your state board of Realtors to see if a data feed is available to impliment the IDX/MLS search. Then find a programmer (I used Vlado a member of this forum). He did a great job.

Another solution would be to use http://www.mlsfinder.com which offers the whole package in one place.

There are basically two IDX solutions available. One is frames and iframes which you have already rejected for obvious reasons and the other is an integrated IDX. Most but not all, MLSs allow their member brokers to download the raw IDX data. The data must then be converted from the MLS format into a usable format for your web site. A good conversion will include interactive membership components that let users sign up for additional information such as, property alerts, setting up appointments, maps, school information, etc.

Most of the commercial IDX providers hold the IDX data and lease it back to the broker for a monthly or annual fee. If you are a broker you are in effect leasing your own data. Often times what you receive is only sightly better than a framed approach.

    http://www.mslasvegasrealestate.com/las-vegas-mls.html We created this one.

As mentioned above, you will need to contact your local MLS board (Or have your broker do it) you will want to speak to Charina.

Next you will need to develop your backend database application, if you are not doing this inhouse, your programmer (Vendor support) must sign certain legal documents in order to act on your behalf as your vendor.

Then you get your feed, code your solution and you're done.

What limitations do you have on your server? Are you running linux or windows? Do you have access to change your .htaccess file? Is mod_rewrite installed?

I have already done this for your area, so know the system pretty well - let me know if you have any questions
