I am curious to see how many webmasters outsource their link building strategy to an outside company. I have always had a hand approach when it comes to link building and seo and really don't trust anyone when it comes to this but I noticed some sites have an incredible amount of backlinks that is impossible to do on own.

I like to do it all myself. While it does take a bit of time you can stay in control of what is displayed for link text and learn quite a bit in the process. Articles have worked well for me so far. I just have to find he time to write them .

I do also all backlinking myself. It takes indeed a lot of time but I have only 1 site where I do SEO for. And when I do it myself I have it more under control.
If I had more sites to manage I probably needed to out source it as well.

This always comes down to a time/money balance. I think you can get more if you really spend the time to do it yourself, but there are times it may be worth hiring out. Depends on your priorities. Seems like working on and promoting websites is a never ending job - if you like doing that yourself - you will probably work harder at it than anyone else you can hire - if it is a chore and something you don't enjoy and are not likely to spend much time on - hire out.
