Google Benchmarking

Do we have any indication of what the participation numbers are on Google's new benchmarking in Analytics? My numbers, as given appear decent if it is a comparison to similar size sites as they claim.

Just curious on the input and thoughts on the numbers.

In benchmarking, our site gets over 138% more visits than the sites it's comparing to. My problem is that I am unsure about if they are comparing my site to others in my area? all over the net? in just my state? and of what size? strange to me that they wouldn't go into more detail about how they are calculating these numbers.

Also, everytime I view the benchmarking stats I have to select which category I want to compare to... I wish I didn't have to do that every single time.

I believe they specify the same size website in the same category you choose. So I am guessing it is comparing us with most any of the mass produced non-static websites out there. Would be nice if we could also choose a region, or metro area - now that would be interesting info.

Ah, now I see it does say "sites of similar size" - Thanks for pointing that out.. I would have NEVER seen it because it was right in front of me!
