I have had a few articles done by REW and submitted to all the article sites, should I also put the article on one of my blogs? Curious if that is a bad thing with dup. content, etc.
Thanks.

Wouldn't that be considered duplicate content?
I am curious to see what people say about this.

I read the other day that you shouldn't "mass submit" the same article all over, that it's considered "duplicate content". That being said, I'm kind of a newbie so I'm not sure a.) if that's true and b.) how much it would actually hurt vs. help you.
Jolenta Averill is the broker|owner of Lake & City Homes Realty, a full-service Madison WI real estate brokerage specializing in lakefront, luxury, and "lifestyle homes". Whether moving to Madison, retiring to Madison, or starting a small business in Madison, you'll find a wide variety of appealing Madison homes, Madison condos, & Middleton homes to suit the most discriminating buyers.
I would think it is not a good idea as duplicate content is not liked by the search engines. I would play it safe and not do it but there may be some people here with more knowledge on this subject.

Duplicate content hurts when it's on the same site. Once content is cached on a site, there's really no problem submitting it to other sites. Those sites may not get recognition from the search engines, but you'll get some incoming links, and they might bring traffic your way. That's why REW submits the articles to article sites.
If you put the content on your blog, it won't help your blog's authority, but if it's useful to your readers, then go ahead.
I just wouldn't do it too often. You need good keyword rich original content added to your blog on a regular basis to keep (or gain) ranking.

I would have to agree. I do not thinking it will hurt putting it on your blog. When you submit to article directories you are hoping people will place the same article on their blog or website to give it more exposure. It may not help ranking wise but I do not see how it would hurt.

If I've spent a fair amount of time writing a nice article I post it to my blog as well.
I just want to share it with whoever stubles across my blog.
Not sure of any positive or negative seo implications.
Quality and originality always win over content that is posted from somewhere else.
Having said that, many people make a fortune in just tracking down RSS feeds and posting them on their websites as content.
You can have one , or both , but having quality, original content is a VERY good thing.
For instance, I started my own article submission website (http://article-trend.com). I have asked for ONLY unique , original content from contributors. We've only been accepting articles for 3 days now, and the juice from google is already starting to flow, and indexing with google within 30 minutes.

I just read the article on article trend dot com about Brittany having to supposedly rename a song she wrote. The article is incomplete in its explanation of why she supposedly had to do that plus there are a few sentences that are grammatically incorrect. Although I only read a couple of articles I have to say that so far I'm not very impressed with the content on the site...although I do like the revenue-sharing concept behind it. Good luck.

Put the articles on your blog first, so google sees that the content on your site is the orgibal. After they have been indexed, submit the articles to the article distribution sites.
