Thread: ActiveRain Trading Points for Trulia??

  1. Default ActiveRain Trading Points for Trulia??

    What the??? --> activerain.com/blogsview/890650/Its-Still-Raining-Points

Ok... so we know that there are plenty of ActiveRainers not all that savvy when it comes to SEO but now AR is bedding up with Trulia and allowing this?

What's Trulia doing with these points?

Thoughts on this?? Will Morgan let us trade in posts for Trulia?? LOL!!!

    My opinion:
Look for a Trulia / Activerain merge/sharing/partnering/cooperative effort to be forthcoming - in a combined effort to gather MLS IDX feeds:

    activerain.realtysoft (dot) com/mlscoverage.php

Note the big call to action on the right hand side:
    Dont see your MLS?
    We are continually expanding
our MLS coverage to serve you
    better. We encourage you to
contact us today to get your
    MLS integrated into our system.
    We require the following info:

    Your Contact Information
    MLS Vendor Agreement
    MLS Name & Contact Info
    Association Name & Contact

Take "free IDX", wave it under the nose of a bunch of Activerainers.
Add in more "free stuff with AR points".
Sprinkle in a little peer pressure (note the wording on the call to action; people won't want to get their MLS "left out when everyone else is doing it").

And you have the makings of AR gathering MLS feeds at an accelerated rate.

Add in Trulia's typical smooth talking & aggressive game plan - and I see some sort of collaborative effort coming together down the road with Activerain & Trulia combining their MLS feeds.

I'd trade every point I have on AR for a custom idx.
I'd agree that AR will most likely be bought out or see a merger at some point not too far away.

No IDX feeds for Active Rain. Don't give them yours.

This is crazy to me that so few people realize what is happening underneath their nose. Oh, well lets get out there and grab all the land we can as from what I can see the internet is similar to the Oklahoma land rush.

Definitely looks like they'll be teaming up. More monthly charges for realtors that buy into it. This doesn't look or sound good from an SEO perspective.

Not my style. Hope this isn't a success.
Great Oakland Real Estate Information. Search the MLS for Oakland homes and condos. Berkeley, Piedmont and Alameda too!

Yeha this doesnt sound good from an SEO perspective but would you want to make sure you are the featured agent in your territory in case this happens? That way atleast you could get some referral links?
