Default A 72 Hour Open House

For those of you who think open houses are a waste of time wait until you read this. I am not posting this to be provocative, but to stir your imagination. I wonder how much publicity this is going to get?

Kye Grace is a successful Realtor in Vancouver, BC and I think his latest marketing idea is brilliant; a 72 hour open house.

The 72 Hour Open House is like other Vancouver Real Estate Open Houses, except that it doesn't stop for 72 hours after it starts. Visitors are welcome to view the property day and night through the weekend. There is no time that you may not come view the property, noon, midnight, 4 am. Whatever works for you, Kye Grace will be there to show you this Gastown loft and highlight the benefits of the Gastown lifestyle. Kye will be at the suite with a sleeping bag, a pillow and three days worth of food. He will not be leaving the building the entire time.

What makes this event even more unique is that people all over the world will be able to follow along on the Live Feed, Twitter or the 72 Hour Open House Blog. Kye will participate in the live chat on the online video feed and will Tweet and blog the weekends happenings.

Just want to remind everyone that Kye's 72 Hour Open House is open all weekend, and he's streaming live from the 2,700 sq ft Gastown unit *USTREAM livefeed @ http://www.kyegrace.com/LiveFeed.ubr *

Kye was in the Vancouver Sun yesterday and has had several media outlets stop by for interviews (CTV was there yesterday, radio station coming later this morning, Global TV this afternoon).

It's a great publicity stunt, as evidenced by his media attention. That would probably be the most boring video feed in the world!!!

Timing is everything Eric . 95% of the time it's very slow, while the other 5% of the time it's a happening place! What's key is the viral nature of SM 2.0, as witnessed by the coverage traditional media has give Kye.

Man that would be one long open house. Right now I can barely stand going 4 hours.

    Hope the publicity pays off.

If I tried this publicity stunt I'd be freaked if that door bell rang at 4 a.m. On one hand, someone would have to be stupid to assault an agent getting this much publicity, but just keep out of the way of the web cam & the agent is a sitting duck! Too scary!

And yes, I realize this could happen during the day (and has) at any open house or vacant home showing. Which is a huge reason I don't volunteer to do open houses.
Money Magazine says that Orland Park real estate is one of the best places to live in the U.S. Check out Homer Glen homes if you're interested in living in the newest Chicago suburb. Next door, Lemont homes are the priciest in the southwest suburbs and have held their value, even appreciating while prices in other areas have gone down.
