What press releases actually do is help you rank better in the search engines. And because press releases are generally "event-based", the timing of getting your content up on the 1st page or so of google is fast!
So, if you are writing articles, then you might as well write a press release, submit it and it will generally rank faster than the article...sometimes it will rank same day!

It does get syndicated very quickly on the web by news service, credible news portals and others. As far as I know if you are looking at print, you will probably need to pay for it. I liked the SERP side of it. It has been consistently ranked on the 1st page of some keywords Ive targetted. Since some doesn't allow links to be embedded on them Ive used the email as the contact point for my autoresponder to work as a opt-in leads capture. You will be amazed that most aren't journalists or reporters but those potential customers that are interested in your products.
The free press releases work well. They tend to stay in the serps a long time and on some you can even pick-up a backlink. They can be used almost in the same way as article submissions.
I have used prweb and fast pitch. Fast pitch is pretty good but nothing like prweb...
I just thought of a way to distinguish...
with most prweb press releases I have gotten 10,000+ reads... but with fast pitch typically 2000-3000 reads...
Thats a huge difference! But then again I guess it really depends on the type and level of crowd the network is syndicating, even though you might have submitted accordingly in the categories.....I imagine your are referring to a real estate related release, sellinggalveston?
yes that is right... we also do vacation rental press releases. Nice results
