The local chapter of the Home Builders Association each summer puts together a furnished home tour. They call it Homerama. It does very well, it runs for two full weeks. This year and for the past several years the home prices in Homerama have been at least 500k. This year they have two locations, one at 500k and one at over 1 million.

I've got a development listed with lot prices in a much more affordable range. Finished homes will probably sell for 175-225k. We have 45 lots available in the first section, and there is a second section as well. It is our thoughts that consumers want to go see homes that they can afford. With realistic expectations. Builders want consumers that they can connect with who may become customers.

I'm thinking of doing a furnished home tour. Has anyone gotten 8-10 builders together and done something like this? SOO many questions.

What kind of advertising budget did you have?
Did you sell tickets to the event o offset the expenses?
I've thought of bringing a charity on board to benefit from the event, thoughts?
Is 8 homes enough?
Does anyone have suggestions on names? I believe Parade of Homes is registered trademark of the HBA as well.

Any other suggestions or comments are welcomed!
