    Exclamation Google Analytics Goal Conversions

Sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn't find anything in the search.

We have analytics set up with 4 goals max. I added additional duplicate profiles so I could track more goals with each profile, so total I have 3 identical profiles set up, each with 4 different goals.

I also have multiple sites that are completely seperate from the main site. I want to track the specific paths to those additional seperate sites.

Can someone please explain to me why I am having an extremely large amount of goal conversion showing traffic flowing from my main site to one of the seperate secondary sites but in the analytics for the seperate sites, I am not showing this heavy amount of traffic....? I am baffled by this and am not sure exactly WHAT these goal conversions mean as far a what types of visitors or hits I am getting. And why the numbers don't match up.

Any ideas? I have heard that alot of people seem to have this same issue.

Does the URL on your goal set up was unique?

It may have to do with how the goals are being set up as well. I know personally that Google Analytics goals can be pretty sensitive when it comes to whether or not goals convert. If you are not just dealing with simple, static URLs, you really have to be pretty descriptive with the funnel and more importantly, choose the right match type.

I personally had the same kind of issue you had a while back, and for me it came down to not using the match types properly. Hopefully this helps you out.

They are all set up correctly as far as match, I have set up exact match... the funnel definitions are set up correctly. Still not sure why I am showing visits or completed conversion but the traffic on the seperate sites (from which they are linked from the main site) are not showing this amount of traffic....
