Default Blog H1 & Page Title Question

I have been looking at my blog, 135 posts since June 10, 2008 when it was new but it shows no page rank, and I rarely have seen any pages indexed when I track it. One thing I have notice compared to some other REW blogs and mine (not all) is that some have the page H1 match the page title like the main web pages do, my blog just says "recent posts" and the Page title is Minneapolis Real Estate Blog. Is this a factor? Or am I off base thinking that matters - here is the blog http://www.derrickmonroe.com/blog/ any feedback would be appreciated, I try to keep it active and updated but does not appear to be working well with rank or index.

    Thanks

I don't think that H1 tag is going to make a huge difference - I'm sure it wouldn't be too much time to have REW change it if you requested it in the work forum. Page rank is going to have more to do with how the blog as seen as an "authority" and one way to get that authority is from different links. Basically you don't have much pointing to the blog - PR isn't really something to focus on as one can get posts to rank well even if nothing is showing up on the little toolbar. I would probably focus on building more links to the blog before worrying too much about the H1 tags (wouldn't hurt but I don't think it is a critical factor).

I agree. Sounds like you have the content down. You should have some page rank by now. On a Wordpress site, I usually get PR within 30 days if I am adding content and backlinks on a regular basis.

With 135 posts, you should be PR2 or so now. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with REW so I can't say if that is typical or not.

    Derrick-
I just jumped onto your site (very nice by the way). Is the Blog inset into the site via frames? Does it actually have a separate URL?

If so, that is your problem. I had the same issue when I started years ago. The "blog" page had no PR, but the behind the scenes URL where the blog really lived did have PR.

The non-indexing may be related to the above.

Whatever your page title is, an H tag should follow. Get more inbound links.

Scott the blog on Derrick's site isn't iframed in - just skinned to match his site. It's still my opinion that he needs to build some more outside authority to that page.

Derrick - one of the things you may want to look at is your titles - a post titled Home Inspections is going to have a hard time making it to the front page of g and isn't likely going to target YOUR buyers. As an experiment, try writing one post specifically to target a longtail in your market, wait a few days and see how that does.

Actually Derrick I did look at one of your posts Rockford Real Estate January 09 - that post comes up in #1 spot for G here. Don't think there is a problem with indexing.

The number of posts has nothing to do with Page Rank. Page Rank is a coined term by Google that is calculated by how many links you have pointing to your URL and what the quality of those links, and the PR of those links.

Derrick, if you have a WP blog, get the all in one Seo pack and that will give you alot of options that you are asking about. If you don't as it appears, you might want to check into one. I had started with what you have, the had REW put in my WP blog. I don't show PR, but don't worry about that. I can check which blogs get more traffic and when and that is good information, which things get the most interest.

Derrick - I think you should add H1 tags although they don't have to exactly match the title. I also think you need some incoming links to the blog and you will be set.
