Default Analytics is showing way more links than I have built. What are mirrored links?

Hey everyone. I just launched my site in November and have been building links ever since. One thing I have noticed is that a couple sites, newhomesource.com and realestatebloggers.com seem to be multipling my links. Anyone know why this is happening, is it bad, and anything else I should know? What is a mirror and is this it? Should I stop posting to these sites? Thanks for the help!!!

If they are from commenting on other blogs that is normal and you will see those links flux greatly over time.

So will that hurt my site? I have actually stopped posting comments on those blogs as I was scared it would hurt my site. Can I go back to commenting and not hurt my site?

No it won't hurt your site. These are links pointing to you. They are from real estate related sites and not bad neighborhoods. I would make sure blog commenting was only a portion of what you are doing to build links though.

If the links are on more then one page, yes, it has the potential to harm your rankings. Make sure you're only getting a few links from a site, not links on all the pages. Sitewide links are bad.

I'm very curious why you think that sitewide links are bad? As far as I know this is how some of the wordpress plugins work.

ROS (Run of Site) is very bad in Google. It trips lots of Google filters, especially the Google Bomb filter. This filter is ran 4-5 times a year, specifically. But general ROS filters are ran all the time.

Just because wordpress has a plugin for them, doesn't make them good. If they're no-followed, that's one thing. MSN loves ROS type links, but Google does not like them. Looks too much like you're trying to inflate your inbound link structure. This use to be a major tactic a few years back for blackhat stuff.
