    Default Dropped by MSN

    Hi all...

One of my sites has just about disapeared from MSN when it was number 1 for its top keywords? It didn't even slowly slide back but dropped over night. Nothing changed on the site that would effect this!

    Just curious,
Are you are asking for link exchanges with Javascript? I am HTML ignorant, but was not Javascript supposed to be bad for SEO purposes?

    <script language="JavaScript" src="http://www.flagleronline.com/local/syndicate/std_text.js"></script>
This language was in your link to me page (the part you gave your own code for people to link to you). A real webmaster please confirm this but I do not believe javascript can be read by Search Engines so wont help you at all with rankings.

Oh, now I know what you mean! That script is for dynamic linking and for the parent site of flagleronline.com. I only have a few sites using that.

    Waterfront,

My index page was dropped by MSN but all other pages where in the index.
There were two things I did
    1) Sent an email to search support <no response>
    2) Added a robots.txt file

Within a month or so its back and strong so I dunno what if anything I did helped or it was just a glitch.

Thanks for the info! I'll try both, although I wouldn't really expect a reply from support.

Let us know if they actually do respond. I think it would be a first.....

Did you make any changes to your home page or see a drop in backlinks?
