Default 2009 upgrade - preview naples

http://www.previewnaples.com this just went live a while ago - would love to get some feedback.

Some of you may be familiar with the previous version (which I really liked) but felt it could benefit from going 1024 and updating it's look to 09's design and technology standards

Your thoughts and comments are appreciated.
    Cheers

Allow me to be first, the site looks great, minor observations are, on the home page when presented with the first search there is a spot to type in the community, why not have a drop down for selection. The by map city on the drop down gts cut off. From the home page aqnd you scroll down to select an area (olde Naples) at the end of the display of search results make the "return to search form" the same size as the "start search" and Save Search" from http://www.previewnaples.com/idx/ . I do really like the cleanliness of the site.

The site does have a more in your face look, but is nicer think. I like the colors too

A few observation or preferences though

When I am here http://www.previewnaples.com/communities.php I cannot get the contact page to drop down.it seems that you have to be in an exact spot to get it to click for me anyways in Ff.

I personally hate having the idx and broker name right front and center, but guess that is not under your control

I don't like the photo instant zoom.

The featured listing is nice and large

The weather icon is small, but I think for those snow birds, seeing the temperature is a good selling too. Get rid of it from June -September though

The "tag card" is sort of interesting and i am not sure what to make of it. It reminds me of something on a suitcase, hence vacation..... which is probably a good subtle visual cue.

I did notice the lead manager, so I'll have to mosey over for a quote on that..... it worked Morgan!

Definitely want something else in that communities box - is something like google suggest ever an option? I really like all the community pages - that's a lot of work.

This is probably a personal preference thing but the search box feels a little too large to me. I definitely like sites that are focused on search - but I would maybe like to see more of the featured listing above the fold (I'm looking at this from a laptop so it might look differently on a regular monitor).

Little thing - I like the weather button at the top - think it is a very good feature in the winter for people dreaming of warmer and sunnier places.

I like the concierge section - seem like Mel could do more with this over time expand this out.

Not sure why there is a page about the country of Panama on the site - if it has some relevance I've missed it. There is also some strange characters showing up in the text on that page.

That is a very nice looking site. I agree with earlier comments about the Communities box, as a user I'd be unsure about what to enter.

Also, on the blog, in IE I get an image error box on the all categories page?

I like the refreshed look of the site and the brown tones.

On the blog I also get broken image links.

Love it...I remember the old one well. Love size of quick search...IMO, you can't go wrong there.

I'm focused on that "Communities" box too...
    @Carolyn – smart idea with "G suggestions-like" solution –

Locals will appreciate the ability to type in but would be a bit of a detraction for me. I had similar issues with little DC areas so I feel the pain.

Thought (without taking much consideration into costs - so forgive me Morgan and Mel!)
    - Doing a two tab quick search (kind of like VancouverPropertyFinder.com) >> "City" first, then "Community" -- "City" would be drop-down & "Communities" you could still fill in...

    Hope that helps...
