    Default Email to Spam

I've found that about 10% of the email responses I send out to clients who have requested additional information end up in their spam accounts. This is an estimate however I frequently see [spam] re: in the subject line from clients who respond. Fortunately some of these people are checking their spam folders but I'm sure I'm losing some leads because of email filtering. Does anyone else have this problem.

Are you using the mail from your own domain? Sometimes these are more likely to be flagged as spam.
As an alternative, you can use a Gmail or Yahoo account and they have a better chance of making it through.

Anything that has real estate, mortgage or other marketing type content, or photos or even url links in the signature lines, can end up in bulk mail / spam folders. That's just one more good reason to call them ASAP if you have a phone number, and maybe send them an email manually right away instead of letting drip campaigns handle it all.

Very interesting. Maybe that is why I don't get replies!

I am not a fan of using a yahoo, Gmail, or other email address. I don't think it looks as professional.

Can you post an example of one of the emails that was flagged as spam? Often is based upon word usuage and/or word combinations. Maybe that will show us the problem.

I had heard that its more about the subject line. We had changed a bunch of our subjects when we had a problem with our emails going to spam. It seemed to have worked.

Whenever we write a new drip campaign we work on the subject and then test it through a Yahoo account to see if it goes to spam or not.

What about using using HTML emails vs using non HTML emails. Do you see more HTML emails going to junk/spam folders?

I think it's because they haven't added you in their address book. Or they haven't yet opened an email from you from that (your)account.

There are several sites that will allow you to check your spam score before sending. Do a quick search on Google for "free email spam checker". You will see several services that will rank your email and explain exactly why your email is or is not labeled as spam.
