Default Advice on Getting Pages Indexed?

My new LEC2 went live about 2 weeks ago, I submitted my xml-sitemap about a week ago and today, I've finally got 2 pages showing as indexed in Google!

Does it usually take this long to get found by Google? Should I expect to see more pages indexed relatively quickly now that Google has found me?

This is my first website and I am new to blogging. Besides continuing to blog and working on my content, is there anything else I can do to speed up the process? Thanks for any advice you have to offer!

You need pagerank / authority brother - here are some suggestions

If you have questions, by all means post them here (or in the link building forums)

No, it doesn't. A few minutes after you registered your domain name Google started crawling it.

To get more pages indexed you need to do two things:
    - make sure the content on those pages are NOT duplicates of other web pages
    - get more links to your interior web pages on your site.

    You need pagerank / authority
And you can also get that by buying an expired domain(s) or another website and redirecting it to your current website.

Actually, there's really no need to use pingomatic at all. You can easily add everything from pingomatic to your blog's ping list (and even more) so it's done automatically from your blog when you post rather than having to do it manually.

Adding outgoing links to other blog posts in your blog post will allow you to send a trackback.

I also suggest being active on the social bookmarking sites...and bookmarking your blog posts with the appropriate tags.

Is the a correlation between visitors and getting pages indexed? Stumbleupon will get you instant traffic, but does Google take that into account?

I am not sure because I was told that stumble is a nofollow link, but Google seems to trust Stumble at the moment. Every time I come up with new content I always hit my stumble button to let the Google bot knows that it's out there.

If you go to Digg.com and digg your site and you have all your pages interlinked then every page should be indexed within a few days. The one that you digg will be indexed in a few hours. Cheers!
