    Default Automated feed of properties?

I have a client who asked whether I could take automated feeds on my site, presently I am inserting each property by hand.

My question to all of you is how is this done? Can I have an agent supply me with say an excel file as .csv and have that upload to the site and be inserted to the listings?

My site presently has RSS feeds for all the properties.

Looking forward to the influx of comments.

Are you an agent that has signed an IDX contract with the boards you work in?

If not then you will have to get each brokers approval to post their listings or you are breaking the law.

I have the permission of all the agents on my site, they send me the updates for their property listings but that does not answer my question...

Please keep in mind that I am in the third world and not in the comfort and convenience of the US or Canada. Things work very differently here in the Caribbean. There are few properties with actual addresses, most people here have post boxes.

No we don't. Which is why I am asking about it all to get a better picture. How is this achieved? Is this something that can be organised / setup? How does one go about setting this up?

All info would be much appreciated..

Maybe you can hire any assistant to go around and start collecting data on all of these properties, active and sold. You can start a data for agents and the public to use. MY friend is think about doing that in Asia.

Great idea, that is something I will have to look in to. Things can get a bit difficult when you run your own business, then do a separate FULL business on the side that started off as a bit of fun..

    Thanks for the advise AnnAnderson1015..

A great example of how good we have it living in the United States.

As we all know we must change with the times. Intentio, looks to me like you have identified a great opportunity.

Have your clients use a platform that creates RSS feeds from their listings when the load them to their own sites. Then pump the RSS feeds into your site. Word Press has a number of quality plugins for doing this and plugins to create RSS feeds out of the content loaded onto a site.
