Default Is this a no follow link?

I posted a comment on a blog. It has some "no follow" language in it, however the format is different from what I've seen before. I think it's probably a "no follow," and would like opinions from others who are more knowledgeable. Here's some of the html.

    It is nofollow : <strong class="comment-author vcard"><a href='http://www.hawaiihomes1.com' rel='external nofollow' class='url'>Hawaiihomes1</a> </strong>

If you're using firefox, I recommend this plugin for quickly checking https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5687. Just activate the plugin and it will highlight red for nofollow, and blue for dofollow. You can use SEOQuake and whatnot, but this one is less bulky and to the point.

Hey that's a great tool! Blue is a "follow" and pink is a "no follow". Very easy to, er.. follow.

Yes, this addon is amazing. I used to have to sit there and view source and do the Control F. I am so glad for these innovations.

IMO - Try commenting on blogs that are interesting and you can give real feedback. The authors may just be flattered and glad you came by. The authors just may read and comment on your blogs. You and the author may just end up being friends. That goes a lot further than a single comment link to give you a tiny advantage in a few months.

Red link or possible friend? Easy choice, I think.

Granted, saving time is good, but relationships take time.

If the blog looks legitimate and you like the post - go ahead and comment with something in kind, regardless of the type of link may receive.

Correct. Blog comments that are well written can provide traffic even if they are no follow.

Also, I don't believe that it makes any difference to yahoo.
