Is bad to BL from own sites?

I have several sites and I use one of my site that was #1 in google for it's keyword to like to another one that is a different area, but same niche. All of sudden I lost my ranking and the #1 site is now #15. Anyone experience this before? Did I do a bad thing?

It's simply the nature of the beast. Google always has cycles in which they rotate things to see what works better. One thing it tells you is your spot is not secure. There is always competition. Continue to build links forever to stay on top. If you stay at 15 you might be getting penalized for duplicate content or something of that nature.

Just don't make it look like you are selling links from your sites. You should be fine if it dosen't look like that.

I got rid of all the back links to my other site and within a week my above-mentioned site was back at #1.

According to Branson here: http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/thread34084.html it is not bad to have your sites linked together. Take a look at the link farm that he talks about.....I have never seen anything like that before.
