Default Google local results shows my site for another agent!!

I was checking the serps today and found that the top 7 or 8 results for the local results (items listed A-J) has one of my niche sites with my keyword listed. The only problem is that it is listing a phone number for ANOTHER AGENT!!

Sooo, what I am trying to figure out is how that info is generated. Did she (the other agent) erroneously do this, maliciously do this, or is it a flub up on Google's side???

oops, here is the link to the search in google

    http://www.google.com/search?q=sevie...ient=firefox-a

If for what ever reason the link doesn't work, the search term is Sevierville Realtor.

My site is the sevierville-real-estate-4-u.com site

Maybe it has something to do with Google getting the phone number from the Yellow pages?

It looks like they're cross referencing the keywords with a phone number (odd?), instead of actually taking it off your site. I just did a quick glance on your site - is your phone number anywhere on it? I'd make sure it was on the home page just to ensure that:

    a) Clients can call you.
    b) Google knows what your number is.

Maybe that's the reason this is happening.

Her (my wife's) phone number is on the site. The phone number listed by Google belongs to the other agent and does not appear anywhere on my site. So I don't see how the 2 are getting mixed up. I could understand it if that number was on the site somewhere but it isn't....

I have seen this type of thing for some time. They may take like information and consolidate it.

We have a site that is found, but only the first phone number is what we have on our site or even submitted to G-biz listings. So, it shows other agentl numbers that have been submitted are below our phone number. If they call any number other than the first number listed, we don't get the call, but another agent will. At least is shows our website. Very screwy... we submit the biz-listing, another agent number gets tagged on to our information.

Why don't you just ask her?

Try listing in the google biz directory with the right info if you have not done so already. maybe that will help.

That is strange...like others have said, submit your info again and wait... it may take a few days (weeks?) for their data to show up on the site.

Try calling the other agent, see if they know what's going on.

I would say that it is malicious. I have seen the same thing in my area for quite some time now.
