Default New Community Page Template Estimate Needed

I would like to obtain an estimate for you to create a "Community Page Template", like you have done for other agents, where the list of links by price range gets dynamically generated, a list of homes, text descriptions, etc.

Question: If you create a page/template for one community, I remember reading in a post somewhere that I can easily copy/clone it for other communities by just providing the community code from our MLS system so the relevant IDX data gets built automatically, and I can then generate the text content for future communities I want to build.

Does this come in a snippet for inclusion on a home page or ?

I want to take advantage of purchasing hours next week for the 5th year promo, so if you could provide an estimate next week that would be great.

If you need more detailed info from me, can you give me a list of ones you've done before for others so I can pick and choose what features or do you have a standard offering?

    Hi Chris,

I'm not sure I fully understand what your asking for here. Almost sounds like you'd us to automatically generate some pages for you? Then also auto generate snippets that are placed on that page? It's something that's going to be completely custom - so I do not have any examples.

    HI Aaron,

    http://www.lakeandcityhomes.com/fitchburg.php is an example.

I'm looking for a community page template that I can clone. Where the availables homes price range links are automatically built, homes displayed, prev/next arrows, where I can add the text/graphics. When I first started with REW, REW said I could change the "area" that feeds the snippet to have it build/retrieve the homes using this key, and I could just clone it for other communities I wanted to build.

    Make sense?

    Thanks...Chris

Ok - so you just need us to set up one example of a page with a snippet in it? The client that runs that site did that all manually - creating a page in the CMS - then adding an IDX snippet to the page... We could set up 1 example page for you in an hour or less.

    Thank you,

I would want you to create the entire page, I think that is what you are saying, and a place for me to change the "area" which is the database key (example: brecksville=408) and the rest autopopulates, except for the static text, graphics, etc., but the format stays the same. I like this example as it has the bread crumbs, bookmark, contact form, different categories that I could add/delete, as long as a few of them were there.

I would also need the main menu modified so a top-level menu of "communities" be inserted and I can add the sub-menus.

Hi Aaron -- I paid for 5 hours of design and 5 hours of programming, so let's try and get a meeting of the minds of what you will do for 1 hour. I'm guessing you will have the html code and snippet similar to the site mentioned below?

    Hi Chris,

You can create pages that display listings for your site like this: http://www.olsenziegler.com/t.php - To make that I used the #sample-idx-snippet# - and put a city name into:

    $_REQUEST['search_city'][] = 'Aurora';

Then created a page and placed the snippet name on the page.... I think that's part of what you are trying to do here.
Then you can create more of those for each community.

Then you'd like to add breadcrumb navigation ... It would just be mainpages - then the subpages. Likely be 1.5hrs programming - then the design time..

The bookmark button - we could make a snippet for that in 30mins programming.

Adding "communities" to the top nav - design

You could do a number of things to "dress up" the snippet results pages - maybe a quick call with a sales rep would be a good idea.

    Thank you,
    Aaron

Yes, the snippet is fine for the basics. I assume I use the textual description for the Cities field that I see displayed in the IDX search and it's case-sensitive?

Is the breadcrumb naviation snippet a general snippet I would put at the top of each page and it gets dynamically generated? So, you build it once, and I put it in all the main pages? If so, how do I obtain a design time estimate for this feature?

    Yes to the bookmark snippet.

Please have design estimate inserting the word "Communities" in the top-level menu between the Transform It! and About menu items.

I'll ask Morgan or whomever about customizing the results page to look similar to the lakeandcityhomes.com results if possible.

It's not possible to receive an estimate on designing search results that "look like" an LEC site - that is my own custom design, and I won't let people order copies of it. Please read this link http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...rey/6234/show/

You can certainly pay to have your own custom search results designed and other custom items but it takes quite a bit of time - (also read http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/...rey/4892/show/)

I would say "to start with" you would want to have 20-30 hours design and 10-15 hours of programming.

You are talking (and referencing) truly custom work here - so it's not like you can just say "I'll just take it like they have it - copy it and stick it on mine with a different color so I can save some $ on development" that's not how custom design works - someone (in the case of the LEC me) put a lot of time, thought, and $ into designing those elements - you cannot copy them, you have to pay for your own and put your own time and creativity into coming up with something unique.
