Awesome guys.... i really appreciate the input.

The site really doesn't sell anything... it's main purpose is to bring different professions in the building industry together to encourage broader sharing and education.

You are absolutely right. I wasn't too sure if people would understand the concept of it... you are right.

Any ideas how to get my concept across?

I like the header and logo graphics, also the font. There is a but …..

I think the page is too busy, part of that is caused by the borders around the sections. You may be able to do away with the borders and just have one line on the right and left side of the center info. I also think it would help to bold your section headers such as architecture, real estate, log in etc. I’m not sure the different font on the left and right works all that well, nor the underlining of log in, poll and navigation. I think bolding the font would create the definition. Then you’d have to deal with the fact that your poll question is bolded, there should be a way around that.

One last thought – did you consider having your welcome message span all three columns.
