What is wrong with my browser?

For a few months now my Internet Explorer (IE 7.0) is not functioning right, not sure what happened but often certain web sites will not display at all when I type in the url in IE but if I take that same url and type it into my AOL browser it works. Something else I notice a lot, when searching my REW IDX on my various web sites, often some cities disappear from the drop down list but on AOL's browser they are there. I can't figure out why this is and what is the issue with Internet Explorer.

Anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks.

You might want to check for IE 7 updates... caution that you might want to wait to upgrade to IE 8 though.

Also, maybe try clearing the cache.

From the Tools menu, select Internet Options... .
Choose the General tab.
Under Browsing history, click Delete... .
Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files... .
Click Close, and then click OK to exit.


BTW, have you looked into Firefox as well. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to install Firefox to see how your clients would see your website via Firefox. (If that is their choice of browsers.)

Thanks, did the cache, IE7 updates and still does not work. I downloaded Firefox and what did not work on IE works on Firefox but still need to figure out why IE is not working.

IE 8 was not ready the last time I tried it. Still a lot of bugs. You may try removing IE 7 and re-installing it. I was able to switch back to 7 from 8 just fine. If you are using Vista I believe the program is listed under updates not programs when you go to remove it.

Don't use IE 8 yet as Rapattoni has not cleared it yet. There may be a lot of issues still with it.

If you can, post the exact problems and I will try to duplicate it on mine.

Thanks, actually I was playing on NorthernWestchesterCondos.com, then search mls then click Westchester, I noticed not all the cities are there, if I clicked a random town then hit search and then went back, unchecked the Westchester box then checked it again saw Armonk is gone, so are some others.

I tried it, like you described (I think) and Armonk was shown. Tried it a few times and I didn't notice any missing cities.

It may be an issue with the website CSS issues not adapting to IE7. I know a few web designers ignore IE7 when designing,..which is a big mistake.. but IE7 is such a headache for web designers.

Switch from IE, that's not the best browser to use anymore. I use Firefox and Safari (Macs are awesome, BTW)
