Default on site links to pages question

I am trying to figure out the best way to link within my site's content pages and home page. What is the best way to do this without getting slap by google?

    Here's my thought.

Home pages links to content pages via Most recent posts

All content pages link to home page and 3-4 other related content pages. But no rec. link back from those pages.

What's everyone doing with their internal page links?

Is the site a blog? Use the related post plugin.

Keep in mind that you can use the rel="nofollow" attribute to sculpt how pagerank is passed from one section of your site to another. This is a great way to keep traffic flowing as you'd like it to, and avoid sacrificing good navigation usability, while making sure your internal links are being used to maximum SEO advantage.

I haven't been using the “nofollow” tag. But after reading your post, it set off some bells on how many pages I should use nofollow on. Do you beleive it would be a good idea to use nofollow on the contact and about pages?

Bogart, I personally would use nofollow on the contact and about pages. It really depends on what kind of information is available on your about page. If this is the main overview of you or your company you may want to have some PR juice passed down to the page. I have some great resources for PR sculpting, I'll look for them when I have a chance and PM you the link.

I going to add the 'nofollow' to my about and contact page. Most of these type pages tend to go supplemental. So it's a waste to pass PR.

PR sculpting may not work as well. MC blogged a couple weeks ago that even links that use nofollow will reduce the flow of pagerank.
