I think there are varying degrees of "spinning" too.
A true "spin" ends up awkward & sloppy 99% of the time because all you're doing is replacing phrases for alternate phrases, and it often turns out reading like someone who speaks English as a 2nd language (very poorly) wrote it.
HOWEVER - a good re-write can often be an improvement to the original article.
ie: 1) Write an article for your blog.
2) Pay a college kid to re-write that article & post it to hub-pages.
3) Pay a different college kid to re-wirte that article & offer it as a guest post on someone else's blog.
4) If you care to - Wash/rinse/repeat for iSnare/Goarticles/activerain, etc.
Yes - it's more costly - but all of those articles would be something you'd be proud to have your name (and link) on, AND in the long run, it will be far better than computer spinning 1 article into a dozen variations of the article.
