I think you have to install the spam plugins..I have several blogs and the one with the spam plugin gets a lot less spam comments.

I seem to get only spam right now. It is pretty frustrating to say the least. At least I am not getting thousands of them. Goodluck getting it to stop!

It still has not stopped. If anyone from here goes to leave "do follow" comments and your post is not added but was in good intention I apoligize. I am going to just start deleting anything that gets caught by askimet, I had 7000 spam comments via the two blogs today and I cannot ever get through that many to find those individuals that ment well. SORRY! Anyone from here please note that you came from REW.

Maybe you can add a validation plugin so that the "user" has to enter a random word. I've never had the need to use one so I don't know how spam comments react to this. This would be my next step though as I have the same setup as you: Approval comments and askimet

One of the 7 listed, Spam Karma 2, is no longer supported by its developer. It still works for me, though. When WordPress outgrows it, it will be good to have the others to consider.

since my last post here. I am receiving a lot more spam comments even with the plug-in installed. I guess the blackhaters figured a way to bypass the spam plug in.
