Default NAR's and it's scraping ideas

One person stated "the NAR policy requires that participants displaying other particpants' listings on their websites make reasonable efforts to prevent scraping."

Another person commented "I wonder if the meta=”noarchive” tag might be a nice compromise. This tells Google not to cache a copy of the page (what they’re claiming is scraping) but allows Google to index the page so that users can navigate to it."

I'm curious if the 'noarchive' tag can be used on IDX results, or is there a downside to that?

I guess it really wouldn't matter too much if some MLS board says that being indexed is the same as being scraped. I am referencing this thread http://www.realestatewebmasters.com/thread34450.html

I don't think we need to panic just yet. So far it's just MIBOR who's enforcing this new interpretation of their rule.

Anyway ... I'm in no position to answer that question. ( not being a search engine expert ).

I guess if the time came it would be a question for NAR / CRT ...

    Thank you,
