Default [SOLVED] New Feature: Unsubscribe Link

Has the unsubscribe link that goes out on campaigns always been included in the CMS? I just noticed it recently, and inside my templates and documents I cannot find where I'm manually adding the link.

It seems that it's adding it automatically somehow. I personally don't mind it, and in fact think it's necessary for a TREC rule somewhere, but would prefer that it be placed after any templates.

In my particular case, the emails I send use a greeting and signature template, with a "document" inside the body of the email.

    Hi Steve,

This is a feature in the latest CMS version. I've updated things so that you can put the {unsubscribe} link in your documents, messages, and/or templates.

Let me know if you find any issues with the changes. This has been applied to all beta tester websites.

So, to be clear, it isn't auto sending the unsubcribe? We are adding it manually, right? That's what it looks like....

Awesome! Thank you sir. I'll place that code underneath my signature and greeting template.

PS. There is a rule in regards to this isn't there? I think each real estate commission has some version of it.

Every board is different, but most have some sort of rule for this. Either way, an unsubscribe link is just plain courteous!

All CMS 2.5 (beta) users, yes. :-P

Once the CMS 2.5 (what I can it) is released, any new install thereafter will have this feature (and a few more).

I am still seeing this unsubscribe link inside of my documents. Here is one that goes out to your truly :

    Unsubscribe
Here are ,my questions. Your unsubscribe....is it deleting the user from the system when they unsubscribe automatically or only taking them off of the drip email? If it only takes them off of the email, this could be a problem for those of us eho bulk email our leads (I do this) because they will still receive these bulk emails and that would be a violation of canned spam or whatever it's called.

Next question is are you removing this from the emails and only making it a manually added thing that I see at the bottom of the wysiwyg?

Thanks and sorry if my questions here seem a little dense...

    Hi Ryan,

I've patched this issue in the 2.5 branch and will update all the beta sites shortly (have a few more patches first).

The unsubscribe link will remove users from mailing lists for campaigns emails, mass emails ("Email Leads" feature) and the saved searches. The lead will still be there in the lead management system.

The lead will still receive user initiated emails such as auto-responders and emails sent from the "email lead" tab in the backend.

For the emails that use the unsubscribe feature the link will automatically be appended to the bottom of the email.

If you use the {unsubscribe} tag in the email it will be replaced with the proper link instead of automatically appended to the bottom.
