I'll check this now. However, this may not save me from canned spam law - that is my concern.

If we use the unsubscribe from REW, they stay in the system which means that I will not be notified that they have unsubscribed so I will have no way of knowing that they unsubscribed and tgherefore they will receive other emails from me thereby violating canned spam.

One fix may be to send an email to the admin notifying them that someone has unsubscribed so we can delete them if need be or maybe the thing to do would be to simply auto-delete them if they unsubscribe. I'm going to violate canned spam if I don't know that they unsubscribed.

    Any ideas?

I just checked and if you setup a template solely for campaigns, and put the {unsubscribe} text in the template, the link isn't appended after the document but after the template as intended.

If you use templates to manager greeting and signatures, this works out perfectly.

@Ryan: I agree; there needs to be notification via email, or an events dashboard, that the lead unsubscribed.

I can help you find houses for sale in Houston and also write at this blog dedicated to real estate technology for agents. I originally created this Houston Real Estate site and switched to REW - awesome decision.

    Ta da!

When a lead unsubscribes a history entry is added to the lead and also a notification on the unsubscribe action is sent to the assigned agent and/or super admin.

Ryan, you should have received 3 of these notification emails during my tests.

Let me know if you guys notice any issues with it.

So, I got your three emails...Then, 3 minutes later, I think I received an actual unsubscribe so I have a question....:

If I send out a newsletter from the backend, will she get the email or is she blocked from receiving it?

    Lead is lindsey pimentel...

Just curious as it would be easier to leave her, but, if she will still receive the newsletter and new listing emails I send, I'll just need to delete them when I receive the notification...

I can have the agents reject the leads and then they stay in the system, but, not accepted....

    Morning Ryan,

When a lead unsubscribes, it will check the "Subscribed" option to "No".

Emails that are sent out from the Saved Searches, Drip Campaigns, or the Email Leads tool will honour the unsubscribe option.

If you use the "Email Lead" tab which is on the lead detail pages, it will go to the lead as it's directed to just the single lead.

So to answer your question..... :P She will not receive the email, since you would be using the "Email Leads" mailer.

If you do want to send something to a lead that is unsubscribed, you'll need to use the "Email" tab from the lead summary page as it's direct.

    Cheers!
