I may be making a seperate one. Previous to this I just had my personal facebook for friends and family and then a business fan page. But it has been difficult to keep them seperate - sometimes you don't know if something is going to be posted on your personal facebook page or your fan page - I don't like Facebook's system of switching back and forth.

I'm thinking of doing more work on Facebook - developing fan pages for each area I work. I think it's a relatively un-claimed territory for real estate and with the FBML module, I can create a landing page, integrate it with my blogs and even allow visitors to search for homes from my fan page. I think in the future we're going to see fan pages gaining a lot of authority with the search engines - I'm already seeing some rank fairly high.

I just use one currently as I really do not rely on social media for business.

I completely agree with this. FB is definitely overrated in most fields of small business and especially when it comes to real estate. No one is going to go on your FB page and suddenly convert into a sale... I recommend looking FB pay per click to ultra target customers rather than wasting your time generating completely targeted fan pages or profiles.

I've actually very recently made a sell from Facebook. I've gained dozens of my clients from them hearing my name and checking me out on Facebook. Its the way you appear on the internet that gives people an impression of you. Since they like what they see on my page, that's a lead right there!

Its all about having a personal page for friends/family and a business fan page for yourself or your real estate business. More importantly, its about the free ads in Facebook's Marketplace that you create with your business page. I have an ad on FB for every single listing I have. It gives people options, and the methods in which I've learned to do so are guaranteed effective. I have just begun FB advertising as recently as 3 weeks ago and have ALREADY made 3 SELLS from my FREE ads!

1 in 13 people worldwide are on Facebook. Is this a statistic to ignore? To me, it only makes sense to be on FB with your business! Everyone has access to you, can see what you're all about, and decide if they are interested or not! Its the easiest thing that has ever happened for potential real estate clients.

    Good luck!

I currently have 2 accounts, it is nice because it allows for clients to check in and interact with you without annoying all your friends and vice versa.

I agree with Liane, I don't want my clients seeing the stories people tell from high school, or my political views, or any other bias i may have.

Yea, it's a must, one for my friends/family and the other for business.

I have 2. One for bizz and one for personal. Keep it separate. Most friends on your regular Facebook account will add your Pages account if they want to. There nothing more annoying than of my friends spamming facebook.

I only have one, but if you have business might as well have a fanpage for it

I have one and a "page" for the biz. I wished I could figure out how to "like" something and have it go to the biz page and not my personal page.
