    Default 301 redirects

before i order up the new IDX on a 2nd site, i'm thinking of changing the domain name of realestatebygreg. There's really nothing on that site but it still ranks well in some searches. would a 301 redirect to a new domain name keep it in the search results? There's probably only 10 pages on the site.

In order to retain the same ranking, you would need to have the same or similar title/description + content. You would want to recreate similar pages to what exist on the current site and redirect each page to its coinciding page on the new site.

It's not a perfect solution but it's your best bet for conserving rankings. I have been forced to switch domains before and done 301's and it "pretty much" allowed us to keep what we had for the main page - internal pages did not fair anywhere near as well though.
