    Default Digg and Reddit

Do any of you write articles and submit them to Digg or Reddit? Ive done it a few times and have managed to pull in some extra traffic to my forum and blog.

not a whole lot of traffic, but helps with search crawlers a bit. It's gotta be a really great story to get the full benefit of digg.

Digg and Reddit for well for serp traffic. Titles with long tails tend to reach the 1st page of Google. However, I hadn't seen too much traffic coming from the actual bookmarking sites.

I use both of them for backlinks purposes. Had some effect on SERPs but not too much on traffic.

Digg is great for back links. I have never had enough votes for my posts to get on the front page. Digg articles tend to rank high in search. I have never experimented with Reddit.

Both digg and reddit are not interested in Real Estate stuff unless its funny (i.e. Eric Bramletts realtor business card post) and / or outrageous (i.e. Wayne Longs breakdown of the mortgage market cartoon) or both.

You would probably find a more receptive audience at mixx, propeller or tipd.

Yes, I do bookmark my articles and pages. I use sites such as Social Bookmarker to submit to several of these sites very easily.

Submitting an interesting blog entry to those sites is one thing, but don't abuse them as if they were nothing more than an advertising tool. Some people are pretty irresponsible.

One other thing I like to use those sites for is to find popular blog entries. I'll make a comment on then and sometimes it will become a decent backlink.

We both Digg and Reddit, but it's fairly useless for us in terms of getting more traffic. We might get 1 or 2 clicks from the articles, but that's about it.
