Is there a free version out there? I know of DocuSign and that's what I'll most likely end up using. Anybody use anything else?

I use Docusign all the time. It is especially handy as many of our clients don't have a fax machine at home but do have internet access. I'm not sure what type of account I have but it only costs $12+ per month, which isn't bad considering the number of times our team uses it per month.
Of note, Wells Fargo will not accept an offer on one of their REO's if it has electronic signatures. They will consider the offer and will ask for a hand signed copy if they accept the offer.
I use docusign too and love it. Super convenient for me and my clients. Honestly, I didn't look around too much before deciding so I don't have a ton of perspective. I just know it works every time and is pretty reasonable as far as price goes.
How does docusign work?
Does docusign some how verify that who you say you are is who is signing the document or does it just drop a image of your signature into the document.

Docusign has a verification process that you have to set up first.
