If this weren't REW forums, I'd say "I'll link to you!" but since this is REW forums, I feel like I should say that "link exchanging is unethical and Matt Cutts will catch you when he takes a break from blogging about his cats," or something like that.

How is link exchange or link buying unethical. Since when did googles TOS determine what we can put on our website? Its one thing for to respect a site owners TOS on what they want posted on there site. Its entirely different for another to tell me what I can do on mine.

    Hello,

I too am not a fan of building all my links....but I don't leave the entire job to one person as I want to see and have control of what is happening...

    Here's my strategy....

    - All my articles are farmed to native English speakers

    - The articles are submitted manually by a company overseas (they just post the articles and do no writing so I am OK with it being done overseas). They provide me with a report after the work is done

    - I outsource directory submissions to a person overseas (again, I am OK with this being done by non-native English speakers as they are just submitting the information I provide them and not writing it). They provide me with a report after the work is done

    - I post on a variety of real estate related blogs/forums and NEVER outsource blog posting.

This strategy has been ok so far... but am now starting to work on more content for my website to move it up the rankings..

Lol - it's a quality control thing for REW forums - if we started allowing link exchange requests in our public forums (and we had a forum like this in the past) it does nothing but attract fly by spammers and bad neighborhood linkers - add that to the fact that we KNOW FOR FACT that Google explicitly does not want to see peer to peer agent links for link pop inflation and it makes for a logical policy.

I don't care if you guys want to connect via PM or whatever if after knowing this you still want to swap links - as you say it's YOUR site - just don't do it in the public forums

The best way to do it, is to do it yourself

I have found an easy, and fast way to submit your website to directories and submit articles.

    http://articlesubmitter.imwishlist.com/

    http://directorysubmitter.imwishlist.com/

Don't PURCHASE anything they offer! just say no and follow the directions to get your free download.

I agree with you in ODesk there are so many competitive freelancers offering their link building services at a very low rate.

I also hire people to do all my directory submissions. It's cheap and effective. Also saves you LOTS of time
