    Default Yahoo Search

If you put "www.yoursite.com" in the yahoo search box, and hit enter, what does the output tell you, if anything?

There are a number of things that you can learn, though as with many SEO questions, the answers are not necessarily definitive. For example:

    1) The order of the pages that are displayed may be indicative of how much authority each page has
    2) You can see how many pages are indexed in Yahoo

    Thanks.

Is there a way to increase the number of pages that yahoo indexes?

My site has many pages but only a few get indexed.

My experience with yahoo is that you need to grab it by the ears and drag it over to your site. The only way to do that is to gain authority. I haven't seen any quick solutions. Of course, if they're out there, i'd like to hear about it.

couldn't hurt to submit your sitemap to siteexplorer, but this still won't guarantee pages are indexed

One reason is that you may have put your site on another domain.

I haven't used the yahoo paid inclusion. So I'm wondering how big of a ranking boost yahoo will give the site.
