PR4 with 1 link?

Still learning/researching the topic of page rank. I had come to some kind of conclusion that links are a big part of 'PR Sculpting'... then I came along this site. A custom home builder in

pdasc.net

I see 1 link from a PR5 site, and 34 pages of content.

Is this enough for PR4? or does anyone see something else?

Huh. I don't see anything that would indicate it should have PR4. I ran it through website . grader . com (my favorite site research tool) and it only earns 31 out of 100 possible points.

I use SEO for Firefox... right clicked.. and saw PR4

And it doesn't appear that the domain has been registered for a long time either.

It is possible he did a 301 redirect from another site. No way to tell this that I know of.

Ok...let me see if I can clarify a couple of things...

PR Sculpting - does not have to do with people linking TO your site, it is a technique for directing the "juice" within the pages of your site.

As Mike says, based on the info provided, there is NO way to tell what the situation truly is. Could be a 301. Could be many things.

Also we need to keep in mind that Site Explorer does not always show all of the links...hope that helps...

Yep. Sorry for the miss wording.. I kind of understood PR sculpting, and tried it on this site. august aliving.com Where I basically put and index and then 7-8 pages only linking back to the main page and achieved PR2 in no time.

I guess 301 redirect could be a good possibility (which there was some way to check for that), but I just don't think a site like a custom home builder would be that worried about SEO. Maybe so though... Thanks for the help

It is possible. If you are lucky enough to get a high PR link (Usually PR6 or higher) you can get a quick bump up to PR4 on the next update. Most scenarios are the 301 though. Never any way to tell.
