Default Listings that won't map +...

    Hi -

    I have two requests:

    1. Currently, my email alerts for new listings go out before the geocode batch job - as a result, the listings can not be mapped when initially received by users. The same is true for new listings that are found on the site. 1) Can you tell me what time the geocode job is run (pacific time) and can you adjust my email alert job to run after the goecode batch is completed?

    2. There are many listings on my site (example below - not a new listing...) that display the message "This listing is not able to be mapped at this time." If I use the exact same address (copied from the h1 text on the listing detail page) and paste it into GMaps, it displays fine. How can this problem be fixed? Also, is there a way for you to tell me how many of my total listings can not be mapped due to this problem?

    Here is one example: http://www.freenevadamove.com/idx/re...08918/map.html

    Your prompt reply is appreciated...

    Hello Mitch

    1) I have shifted your email cron to run 2 hours later and set the geocode cron to run just after your data update. This should fix this problem.

    2) It appears that the geocoder has been malfunctioning the past little while. You should see all the possible listings geocoded now.

Currently I see 5,865 geocoded listings in the residential table, out of a possible 6,579. Or 89 %

    Hi Steven -

For some reason this problem is persisting. I just checked new listings (page below) for today and there are no photos and none of them will map. Not sure if this is a feed issue or a timing issue but I need this working reliably. Thanks.

    Hello Mitch

This is simply a timing issue. The data update starts at 10:15 Central and takes a while to download all the photos and geocode everything. The cron finished at about 11:05 Central today (about 30 min after your post). This is simply how fast we can download all the data and photos and we cant make it faster.

I have moved the geocodeing step to just after the data update step (instead of at the very end) since it is fairly quick. This way mapping will work more quickly and the photos will come later.

But overall you'll just have to be patient while your photos and data update.
