    Default Godaddy and hosting

I have several domains hosted under one domain with their "deluxe hosting" account.
I can pick the pages up through searching online, but wouldn't the seach engines work better towards my domain if I just went with their "economy Hosting" which is one domain with none under it even though I have to pay more for each account, so my domain doesnt have to go through a primary one first?
    Thanks,
    Mike

I asked this in another thread and the reply was godaddy sucks. I understand they may not be the best. My question related to the two different types of hosting. For now, I need to stay with them.

All hosting providers suck :-) Its typical to massively oversubscribe the economy services. Also the fine print usually says that the unlimited usages is based on 98 percentile of users. So if you are in the top 2% you get bumped up to a $100 dollar a month plan (don't forget most users never get any traffic, so its easy to hit that mark)

    Well that's a little harsh...

What host are you on? That sounds kind of illegal.

The only problems I have with hosts are somewhat random planned downtime and I got in trouble for RAM use once, but that was due to a faulty wordpress plugin that couldn't handle 10,000 uniques a day

If you're going to go to that trouble, you'll want to make sure the different sites are on different C-blocks. Otherwise, it's not doing you any good anyway & you'd be paying for nothing.

Cutts says it doesn't make a difference. Each one would be treated differently so long as the content is unique.

    ps. Godaddy sucks.

Seriously, how do you think the pay 5k for a server and sell websites for $5 a month. Most have hundreds to thousands of sites on a single server. No the average traffic is manageable. But what happens to your site when someone else's goes popular on digg?

FYI, Most hosting providers put the %2 rule in their service contract.

If you are using a shared hosting provider make sure you get a unique static ip only assigned to you. Shared hosting providers will have you and hundreds of other customers on the same ip.

what hosting providers have you guys tried using and recommend? i've read lots of reviews, currently use dreamhost and can't stand the speed.

at the moment, we're looking to switch to HardLinesHosting.com, a local company that can keep the number of sites on a single server down.

i'd like to know what you guys use/like.

I personally always use my own server (we provide hosting for our clients) or a vps hosted at a network operations center, as I like to control everything. However, I hear hostgator is very good and reliable.

I own my own servers. Its the only way to go if you care about performance.
