I need your advice on best system considering my scenario...
I want to stop using my company's email IP and go to my own so when the time comes to move on I'm not in a hard spot moving email. I also want longevity in my address so want to use my domain name for email (i.e. melinda@allaboutrealestate.com)
My issue is I don't like the layout and functions (or rather lack thereof) of what we have at REW (Horde). I looked into a Gmail account since they will show messages as from your other accounts. That said, if it is sent to someone who uses outlook or msn then the message shows up From: ....@gmail on behalf of ...@yourdomain.com.
Doesn't look so professional!
Questions:
1) Is anyone currently working with Horde and has a good system or upgrade to make it funtion better?
2) Any experience using another email system that will have your message appear as if from your domain name and also not appear as spam to others' mail systems.
Thanks,
Melinda
P.S. Here is what G says about there "on behalf of" issue...
" know it's annoying, and we're working to fix this "On Behalf Of"
behavior as soon as we can. As we've mentioned in our Help Center [1],
the reason we include your address in the headers at all is to help
prevent your mail from being flagged as spam by your recipients' email
services. For those who want the technical details, we use the
'Sender' field to be consistent with DomainKeys [2], a commonly used
email authentication mechanism. If we didn't do this, your messages
may get sent to your recipients' spam folders, which would be worse
than the annoyance the current implementation is causing. "
