Are we able to upload and host video files, or do we need to use a service like YouTube?

Yes - you can ( most files can be uploaded with the 'image toolbox" in CMS 1 ) - however - you might need the "Custom File Manager" so you can upload different types of files - and large ones might give you issues. It's a quick 15 - 30 min project for the file manager.

Our local idx requires a stripped, unbranded version of our real estate videos. So we create the plain jane sanitized one at the same time. Want to host our unbranded on server space but wondering about compression for the uploaded..ideas? Saw the video question and said..hey...best place we could find about current video issue. Thanks!

on a related note, with video uploading and hosting ... is there a free video "player"/"platform" that you can install? I'm looking for something similar to http://www.brightcove.com/en/video-platform (but without the cost, obviously)
