I missed a call on my business phone and I think it's a website lead. Should I call them back or just forget about it? If I call them what should I say? Ideas? (yes, I'm new)

Just call it back - if I miss a call I call numbers back all the time that did not leave a message. I simply say "Hello This is Derrick Monroe with The Derrick Monroe Group of Realtors, I just missed a call from this number and wanted to touch base in case someone needed me" Simple and to the point.

My sister has a tree service and she told me that she calls back and gets a lot of good business that way. Anyway, I called and they said they didn't call and weren't looking for a house, so I guess it wasn't a missed lead? Maybe they had just called to say "hi?"
or maybe they dialed the wrong number, or maybe...
But NOW YOU KNOW and you can sleep well. Imagine if you did not call them back and they wanted to see a 2.8mil property and since you didn't call them back, they called me and now I am somewhere tropical because I am on vacation after earning that commission.
OK, I think you get the point and I am quickly slipping away into dream land.![]()

Really nice point, Larry. I think satisfying the curiosity is well worth the phone call. What do you have to lose?

I sell Houston homes and write at this blog dedicated to Real Estate Technology for agents. I originally created this Houston Real Estate site and switched to REW - awesome decision.
I usually try to call back for the same reasons everyone already gave. I say "sorry, my cell phone seemed to have dropped the call, so I thought I'd call back."

Yup, good that you called back to find out for certain.
Absolute worse case - they scream & yell at you, and hang up (and its not from anyone you know, so who cares). Shrug them off and move on to the next deal.![]()

Absolutely CALL THEM. Just introduce your name and company and mentioned that it appears someone tried to call you and if you could offer assistance.

You will never know what could come from a missed call. Even if it was a wrong number, you will verbally be giving them your business card.
