Default How is this compliant with IDX internet listing display rules?

This is one of my companies listings, Trulia is displaying it with some other Real Estate Agents information, and a contact form that goes to her. I do a control-f on this page to search for "iet" and find no mention of our company as the listing broker.

Does Trulia not have to follow the same rules as us because they aren't Real Estate Brokers?

WTF? I can't believe they don't have to put the listing company and agent. Did Sook buy up all the zip codes or something. Her profile states 330 listings.

I wonder if the same would happen if you had put it on trulia. Is it possible that she actually put it on trulia?

I know you can claim listings on there. My realtors claim them all the time

If they are theirs. I feed them all to there and then they claim them

Wow. I really do not like that no effort has been to prevent the consumer from being misled in assuming that Sook or whoever is the listing agent. I think if they are to hold a feed they should have to at least credit the listing office. If I was a broker this is the only way I would give them the data to compete against me on the web. I would at very minimum an avenue to build my brand.

This agent is claiming listings that do not belong to them. This is a violation of the COE and you should file a complaint against the agent.

I had the same thing happen to me last year. An agent, from another company, claimed one of my listings.

I called the local MLS and they confirmed that this was a violation of the MLS rules.

My MLS then informed the other agent and they immediately abandoned the listings.

Generally speaking, more and more of this behavior is popping up. Claiming listings on Trulia is an obvious violation but others are less noticebale.

For example, there are many realtors violating mls rules by posting and advertising select listings (that aren't theirs) on personal blogs, social network sites, etc. Our MLS is attempting to educate member realtors but I believe this issue will snowball at sometime in the future and require significant new rules and penalties to clarify.
