Keep it interesting and NOT keyword loaded. Nobody wants to read spew, so make it fun and exciting. People will start to subscribe to your blog, and then you are building relationships, which is true authority per Eric Blackwell (SEO extraordinaire).

The best way is to impart information regarding the neighbourhood which may include something that one would like to know if he is planning to move into that area. And you could write a lot of stories of the happening places, funny incidents, latest news of value to the reader and make it sound like a very personal, friendly chat. Sprinkle it with titbits of info that would prove you to be an expert in your area.
The idea is to make your blog sticky, keep adding content periodically so as to attract repeat visits and establish your credentials.
The next time your readers need your services or someone they know needs it, they would refer you, no doubt.

If your blog allows you to set up categories, you may want to create categories for:

Medical, Schools, Shopping, Entertainment, Utility Services, Recreational Activities such as Golfing, Public Pools and so forth. Then Blog about each as it relates to why your area is a preferred place for real estate.

Great, much important in writing a blog is that you think first of your readers that they will benefit on that post or rather learn from it. It is also important to keep your blog updated and keep your writings interesting.

You need unique content that no one else has. Try Market statistics, make a couple charts in Office, give some market stats then give an analysis. If you do this regularly, the content will generate itself.

I like the idea of writing fun, interesting subjects to give the reader something more that plain old boring information.

People like to know details. Specific information about neighborhoods is tough to find (except for cold stats), so anything that really describes a neighborhood (demographics, are there sidewalks, lots of trees, is it safe, etc.) will interest readers and keep bringing them back because the info is useful and hard to find elsewhere.

In addition, making your blog post brief, short and concise will be more appealing to the people who are reading compare to the long blog content with same point that want to express at the end

This is all great advice. One tip that I can give is to write down the questions that your clients ask you. If you have a Blackberry or iPhone, keep a file with these questions. These will be great topics for your blog posts because it is info that buyers and sellers need.
