Thread: Top Producer vs Others

    Default Top Producer vs Others

I have used TP for many years and I like 7i but its clunky, TP 8i is too busy and I'm not a big fan. As long as they don't phase out 7i, I am getting by but am looking for something that will help manage leads.

The things I don't like about 7i - There isn't a way to add contact types to a new lead when REW inserts it into the DB. I spend time on each lead putting the same types on the 300 leads per month.

Ideally, I would have the above option as well as more flexibility with a product.

I have seen some info on WiseAgent but haven't taken the time to do the trial.

Any feedback from the forum would be great!

    Hello Geckler,

I've been hoping that someone would respond to you with the "holy grail" of lead management systems.

I use TP and have the same frustrations that you do. I've researched other alternatives and can't find any.

TP has some great tools but I just don't use them because of the general awkwardness of the system.

Please post if you come up with a better solution.

IMO, it depends on your current and future needs which system you select.

We've been running around with this for a few weeks lately and here is what we have decided...

The REW contact management system is very good, but it does lack a few things we need. I have ordered the upgraded version to see if it fills in some of the blanks we require.

However, if not we will be going with Wise for a few of the features.

Wise does a few things that TP fails miserably at or charges an arm and a leg and a bonus room...

First off Wise is free for 30 days. If I remember correctly TP was 39.95 a month, wise 24.95 so save some money.

TP IMO requires so much time to learn and manage, it actually hinders productivity.

It also has placed some of the features in the most illogical areas that they become very difficult to find.

I contacted TP a few times regarding the way some things were handled and I must say, after speaking with both a tech support person and a developer I decided it was best I save my money and not use their product. Their development methodology is amateurish at best!

Don't get me wrong, TP has some really great features but you have to be an engineer to manage it all efficiently. Specially if you want to customize things. As they continue to add features and fix bugs, their interface becomes more crowded and disorganized.

TP does not provide team support without a significant expense, wise I believe comes with team support (still waiting to verify this from Wise directly).

I just wish wise would fix their home page

I was looking into wise agent more and found the following video:

    http://www.thewiseagent.com/secure/h...f/newuser.html

it was a helpful first look. I think I'll get the trial to check out the areas of concern and make sure it will work for a team and that the call list is organized similar to TP. I can make up to 100 calls in a day and want to make sure the view is easy to use. TP handles this well and since I spend so much time in there, its vital.

This looks pretty interesting because they allow document storage as well.. something TP does not have. Also the integration with Send out Cards would be great, since I do use that program. Curious what their team support is.

This does look interesting it also has a sync program between outlook and wise agent and it's only 49.95 instead of the top producer 149.95. I'm going to test this out since it's somewhat reasonably priced.

I'm really hoping that REW's contact management system will fill the bill for me.

I'm a long time TP user and frankly I've grown to hate the program. It's slow, clunky and intuitive is apparently a foreign language to the good folks at TP.

To make matters worse, when 8i was released as a non beta it managed to send every prospect in my database 13 duplicate emails. The unsubscribes were incredible.

It's a powerful program, but it's just too darn cumbersome to use for me.

I'm test driving the Wise Agent now... I have been using TP for the last year. I like that when I open the home page of TP I see at a glance my activities for the day, my listings, and my upcoming closings. WA doesn't have that on their interface from what I can tell... I'm not finding it that great to use. But it definitely is less expensive than TP especially when you ad assistant licenses etc to TP
