    Default indexing

Anyone having trouble getting a site indexed by Bing. I have a fairly new basic wordpress site I helped a builder set up and it is ranking first page for keywords in Google and Yahoo but not showing up at all even for the url in Bing. Any thoughts on this? The site is Hughston Homes. .

Post comments on a few blogs. Bing seems to be very willing to give some backlinks for those. You'll find yourself indexed eventually.

Without knowing how long you've had your blog, I can't help you more than not. Nothing is instant when it comes to search engines.

The best way to get indexed in Bing is to search for article directories in Bing. Submit 2 or 3 articles that come up at the top search results for article directories. Since Bing is crawling those sites, the will find your link in the articles

My primary site has been active since 2000 and ranks very well in Yahoo and Google yet Bing (MSN) has always hated it. They indexed only one or two insignificant pages and not the home page.

Until yesterday.......It showed up on multiple search terms First page in the #1 postion for organic results..... I don't know why but I'm happy today.

Isn't it weird when two of the big three love your site but one of them won't index anything? I have not gotten much traffic, if any from Yahoo for several years.
If you are looking for San Diego Real Estate or you want to view San Diego MLS listings (or at least that portion of the data feed that SANDICOR allows us to display on our websites) go to a local San Diego County real estate Agent's Site.

Bob - while I get much more traffic from Google the quality of the Yahoo traffic is much better. Unfortunatly I can't comment on the Bing (MSN) traffic.

Lewi knows what he is talking about. He has obviously done his homework and it shows. Pat yourself on the back for being someone who actually knows what is going on behind the web page and how it really works. Good job Lewi!

Yep - it finally popped in this week.

I don't know what was up with this one. I actually submitted it to bing a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if that is what made it pop in but the site has been up for about 9 months and has plenty of good links to it - to have been found. It has been a long time since I have had to submit a site to a search engine.

Anyway, I am just glad to have it finally show up. Thanks for checking on it!!

    Interesting comments.

I was coming up 1 for most terms in Bing, as of a few days ago, I am not even on the first page for some of them, go figure these freaking search engines!!
