When under the advanced tab while creating a REW blog.......umm.....what are tags? I understand keywords but tags?

That's a good question, I'm curious myself. Actually, now that I think about it, aren't tags like a mini link to visitors that groups the same type of posts together. Such as:

Technology
Real Estate
Buyers

Each of those could be a tag, but they may have multiple posts covering the broad topic? I hope someone with more smarts can shed a light.

Tags are a classification that you add to a post in a blog software or forum that creates an inhanced sort of category system. Where posts that have some portion of similarity can be grouped to a page. I notice that it helps to have a few more tenticals out in the web.

In the end it gives a way to categorize posts that may not fit well in your current categorization scheme but would make sense for a user searching a certain keyword.

I hope I did not completly confuse you and if I did I will try to explain it in a better way.

Tags are like catagories. You use them to help other users sift through your content. It is good for search engine spiders as well since tags show differently to them. It is all meta-data "data about the data'

Tags are also known as the keywords of a particular article or blog. Tags are often used in forums, directory submission sites and social bookmarking sites. I often add tags to my blog and website to rank my keywords.
