    Default Google Site Search

    http://www.google.com/sitesearch/

What would it cost to integrate this into my site (ietrealestate), its getting difficult to find past blog articles...

    Thanks

Where would you put the search box? I'm imagining it going in the right side bar there - just below the "My Account" box. I'll need design to provide the estimate on placement of the search box. One thing I think with this Google Site search is that you'll want to purchase their service as the free one includes Google Ads ( I believe ) - then you could end up with some competitors ads on your site.

We could also do a "site search" just with some programming to look in all the blog posts and cms pages for a certain keyword - and leave Google out of it all together. Of course more programming time required ( 2-3hrs ) but could be an option as well.

I'll wait for Ben to confirm a couple of things above, before going to the designers for an estimate. Where will it go? Will you buy the ads-free service? Would you rather have us create the search as Aaron mentioned?

I was thinking on the blog page underneath where it currently says "English | Espanol"

Another good place for it might also be as a 4th drop down slider??? That would make it accessible across the site...

to consider the custom option I'd want to know how that would compare in terms of speed and relavency with Google's search, I was considering the paid option but I'm testing it out and it doesn't seem to find my blog posts accurately which was the whole reason I wanted it...

The custom option - where we just make it search the site would be my recommendation. Test out the one here: http://www.skyrealtyaustin.com - to see if you like the results.

only thing with custom option is that I wouldn't have the reporting features that would allow me to test what people are searching for right? I'm planning on having alot more content=> traffic 6 months from now and I think that might be an important way of finding what people are looking for to refine my advertising efforts

Yeah - good point - so let us know what you'd like to do.

Option #1) Use the Google Site Search product from Google ( we'll get you a design estimate)

Option #2) Use the custom search I suggested.

    Thank you,

Put a half hour programming on this after you get the design estimate as the designer may need some help with the form.

Let the designer know to ask me how to style the Iframe.

Ben - do you have the code from Google already?
