    occastles,

the reality is that many webmasters are moving links for many (good reasons)

When a certain links page gets too crowded, I usually create other topical pages where I can move several partners. It is to the benefit also of the partner to me moved to a "are-real-estate-sites.htm" with fewer related links than stay where it was located first like "link.htm" which is not optimised for your location and has gathered loads of links over time.

I have been using SEO Elite and it does a good job for small to medium large sites, however it is mostly terrible for large sites since it takes forever to spider the partner's site.

I am looking at a solution for 3 ways link exchange, since more webmaster seem to be favoring this option nowadays. I don't do much of these cause it gives me nightmares when I need to check if they"re still linking back.

And if the reason is a good one, I'll find out. But I don't want my link moved and me not know. I decided on a link swap based on what THAT page had... cached and PR. If they move me to a page that isn't cached, why would I want to be on that page even if I'm the only link??? I've (sadly) come acroos many webmasters that will remove their links page or move the links to a new page that the search engines don't know about so now all the links they've aquired are one-way links, which really boosts their website ratings when all their outbound links are no longer found by the search engines.

I want to know when my link is NOT on the page it was agreed upon. If I don't find it there, then I contact the webmaster and ask. If the page they moved me to is acceptable, then I'll change what page I look for my link on... but I don't want my system to automatically just go and find it... it moved... an I want to know why and if the new page is acceptable.

Here again... if you just maintain a list of URL's where your link should be, then the 3 way link echange is not an issue. If my link is not where it's supposed to be, I remove their link... all I have to do is know what site it is on. And with me, if it's not on my main website, then it's on my other website where I do 1 way (you call it 3 way) link exchanges. I dont' see how checking for these links is any harder or complex then an old fashion link swap.

In the best of world, webmasters should warn their partners when moving a link, but the more links and the more sites you have, the less feasible it becomes. Real good partners are always warned, but I admit I tend to simply delete some links when I found out that my url is just buried on a page with 200 links, while when we started, there were maybe a dozen of them

When you get more than one site and still conduct other businesses, any automation is always appreciated. Otherwise you end up checking links all day

I personally don't have the time to write all sites I do link exchanges with. I know I should though. So far with regular LE, many software do a good job checking if your partners still links to you. I guess that apart from making a personalized script for this purpose, I'll have to write them down as you said.

This being said, let me know if you want to exchange links

I have about 100 links and backlinks, and VERY SELDOM do I find a missing link... so I've not run across this "moving of links". Guess I'm just lucky... but I'm with you, I don't hesitate to remove someone from my links page.

I'll swap links with you... let's make them ONE way links. You can put a link on your website to my www.OrangeCountyCastles.com website, and I'll put a link on my www.alisoviejo--realestate.com/links.mv website page.

    My info:

The resource for <a href="www.orangecountycastles.com">Orange County real estate</a> information for buying or selling your next OC home. Search my online <a href="http://www.orangecountycastles.com/socal_mls_listings.mv">Orange County MLS</a> 24 hours a day for your next dream home.

    OR
Link Text: Orange County Homes for Sale
    Link URL: http://www.orangecountycastles.com
Description: The resource for Orange County real estate information for buying or selling your next OC home. Search my online Orange County MLS 24 hours a day for your next dream home.

When the link is up, email me with your info and I'll put you on my other site. (email me at deanna at mydomain.com)

Then we'll both enjoy one way in-bound links.
